PM Instructs NCDD on Organizing and Strengthening Digital Governance in Sub-National Administration

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen instructed the NCDD on the organization and strengthening of digital governance in sub-national administrations in implementing Phase II of the National Program for Sub-National Democratic Development.

During the ceremony to announce and officially launch the National Program for Sub-National Democratic Development Phase II on Monday, 21 March, Prime Minister Hun Sen stated that the NCDD must continue to promote, develop and deploy information technology and digital governance systems at each sub-national administration.

He said that such a push for strengthened digital governance is to increase the efficiency of the internal administration, sub-national administration and communication with the people, as well as to ensure the provision of public services to the people in a timely and transparent manner, to achieve all set goals and ensure the smooth implementation of the National Program for Sub-National Democratic Development Phase II.

Decentralization and deconcentration reforms involve the strengthening of good governance, which has been at the core of the Royal Government's Rectangular Strategy for the past three terms, to reorganize the sub-national public administration structure and management system based on democratic development principles.
